Wiggly Field - "if you build it, they will come"
A group of people got together a while back and said "Why doesn't Columbus have a Bark Park?" Our community needs an area where dog owners can take their pets to play freely and safely. Since then, they have mobilized, adding many other dog lovers to support this project in our community.
We were fortunate that CART (Columbus Area Recreational Trails) has decided to partner with us, allowing our group to gather tax free donations under their 501c business licience. Also the CART boardmembers are able to help us with many operations such as setting up our bank account, legalities with donations, and finding contacts for help with various aspects of the project, and even helping suggest some possible locations.
It is our goal to provide the funds to draw up plans, purchase the building materials and contractor to build the "Bark Park", while finding a location where the maintenance will be assumed by the present owner who will retain ownership of the land.
To date we are currently considering the following location and reaching out to the city regarding this property:
- You can volunteer your time or contacts, just contact: Sharon Raimondo sharon.raimondo@yahoo.com 402.910.1035 (Cell) 402.564.5456 (Office)
- Or you can send your donation to: CART (Bark Park Project) 2717 33rd Street Columbus, NE 68601
